Trafalgar Square

The National Gallery houses one of the largest collections of European paintings in the world which date from around 1250 to 1900, the most famous of which are done by Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Botticelli and Van Gogh. The gallery was founded in 1824 and today shows around 2,100 paintings.
