Great Russell Street

The British Museum is the oldest and largest museum in the United Kingdom and has galleries dedicated to Western Asia, Egypt, Greece, the Orient, Africa, Italy, the Etruscans, the Romans and prehistoric and Roman Britain, not to mention a number of temporary exhibitions.

The museum was founded in 1753 and is a popular tourist attraction for those who want to see some of its most famous features, such as the Rosetta stone, sculptures from the Parthenon and the Portland Vase.
