3 Abbey Road, St Johns Wood
London

The Abbey Road Studios, located in a 19th century building, are renowned as the studios where the Beatles recorded their first album.

Today, this studio is regarded as the most technically advanced in the world. Its history began when EMI bought the building in Abbey Road in 1929. The Beatles recorded in this studio for the first time in 1962, even though EMI had began recording in 1931. Songs like She loves you or I want to hold your hand were recorded here.

Abbey Road is considered as one of the most emblematic studios for the UK music industry and artists such as Radiohead, Manic Street Preachers, Texas and Blur have recorded their music in this building. In 1983 the studios were opened to visitors. However, today the studio’s premises are only accessible to musicians.
