Royal Botanic Garden Inverleith Row Edinburgh The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh was founded in 1670 and is the most important park in Edinburgh and the most visited in Scotland. Three other regional gardens were also founded in Scotland during the 20th century and altogether, the four Scottish Gardens comprise the largest collection of plants in the world. There are a number of greenhouses within the Royal Botanic Garden which have enabled it to host different plants which need Amazon rainforest conditions. One of the popular attractions is the Chinese Hillside which hosts a collection of Chinese plants. You can also explore the Rock Garden, the Scottish Heath Garden and the Woodland Garden, and there are guides who will show the garden during the spring and summer months.
