Castlehill, Royal Mile

The Outlook Tower was built in Edinburgh during the 19th century by the optician Maria Theresa Short. Camera Obscura is located in Outlook Tower and there are guided tours available which will give you a unique opportunity to take a look through the giant camera and see Edinburgh. The Outlook Tower also includes scientific galleries, holograms and a photograph show. On the upper roof of the tower you can see Edinburgh Skyline using the free telescopes.

There are other activities included in the visit for example, the Magic Gallery with optical illusions, the Kaleidoscope, Light Fantastic which is a show dedicated to science and hologram art, and finally Edinburgh vision which shows 3D images of the city dating from 1850 until today.
