Galärvarvet, Djurgården

The Vasamuseet in Stockholm was opened in 1990 and is currently the most visited museum in the Scandinavian Peninsula. It is home to the Vasa, the only 17th century ship which has been salvaged after having sank on her maiden voyage in 1628.

The Vasa ship has been restored so that it looks just like it did all those years ago and today its name has been used for the museum. A trip to the museum includes seeing the boat and various related exhibitions. There are also cinemas and restaurants on board.

The most recent exhibition shows the Vasa voyages. This ship will give you a real insight to life aboard this ship when it sailed the oceans in 1628.
