Fondación Pablo Ruiz Picasso, Plaza de la Merced, 15, Málaga

The famous Spanish artist Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga on 26 February 1881. The house where he was born is now used as a museum which displays the artist’s famous artwork and other contemporary artwork. The museum is located on the first floor of the house and has 3,500 works of art by around 200 artists and was compiled thanks to donations by the Picasso family heirs.

Some of Picasso’s masterpieces on display at the museum date from 1931 to 1971 and there are also paintings by Miró, Bacon, Moore and Ernst. The museum also houses artwork by contemporary artists from Malaga such as Barbadillo, Peinado and Joaquín de Molina.

Entrance to the museum is free.
