The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art located in the heart of Palma was opened on 30th January 2004 and was built on the ruins of the former renaissance city walls. This museum displays a collection of artwork which was donated to the museum by a number of public institutions such as the Palma Town Council and a private collection belonging to Pere Serra. The art collection at the museum is made up of more than 500 masterpieces which date from between the 20th and 21st centuries and some of the most important works were compiled by Miquel Barceló, Picasso, Miró.

This museum is highly recommended if you are interested in seeing the most important Balearic art collection in the world.
