Cap de Formentor is a peninsula located in the north-east of Majorca which sticks out into the Mediterranean Sea. It is an extension of the Tramuntana Mountain Range which is a chain of small mountains in the north of the island.

The road from Port de Pollença to Cap de Formentor is approximately 8 miles long and it leads to a beautiful lighthouse and offers impressive views from the top of the cliff out over the turquoise sea. However, before arriving at the cape, you should stop at Cala Figuera, which is a cove sheltered by the cliff and is far away from the crowds of tourists and continuing along the road you will come to the luxury Formentor Hotel beside Formentor beach where you can find the rich and famous.

The highest part of the cliff in Formentor, Fumart, stands at 384m above sea level and there are various look out points on the cliff such as the Mirador del Mas Pas from where you will be able to see Minorca which lies east of the island.
