Alcudia is a resort in the north-east of Majorca and which is south of Formentor. It has beautiful beaches and is usually packed with tourists, especially the British, during the summer months. However, the beaches in Alcudia are more relaxing that those in El Arenal, Magaluf and Can Pastilla.

Enjoy a siesta on one of the beaches in Alcudia and then go and discover the town, which is one of the oldest on the island, dating from the Phoenician Empire. Try and visit Polentia which was an old Roman town and this is where you will see a small Roman amphitheatre.

Instead of spending the whole day on the beach, try and make the effort to visit the backstreets of the historic centre of Alcudia. You will be surprised by the hidden charms waiting to be discovered.
