The Parque del Oeste is popularly known as Parque de Rosales. It was developed at request of King Felipe II who wished to join the Palacio Real to the Monte de El Pardo. Today, the main attraction in this park is the large rose garden where hundreds of roses blossom every year. Each spring there is a competition and a rose show.

This park is an ideal playground for children and also houses the Templo de Debod and the Jardines de Ferraz, added recently to enlarge the park.
