The Archaelogic Museum in Ibiza is located on top of the hill beside the famous Ibizan Cathedral in the old town of the city. At this museum you can see its collection which explains the history of the Pitiusas Islands (Ibiza and Formentera) and takes in the prehistoric period to the Christian Conquest.

The museum comprises of various buildings and its entrance is an ancient chapel built by fishers and it is known as the capilla del Salvador. The rest of the museum is located in the building which was the former headquarters of Ibiza University. There are beautiful views of Ibiza Bay and the city from the observation platform of the city walls outside the museum.

Many of the objects housed in the museum come from the Phoenician, Carthaginian and Roman Periods and you can also see the ancient burial grounds known as necrópolis del Puig des Molins.
