Towering at 142m high, Torre Agbar has become one of the emblems of contemporary architecture in the city. This skyscraper, headquarters for the Barcelona Water company, is situated in Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes. This is a very impressive monument which resembles a geyser of water rising into the air. It was designed by the French architect, Jean Nouvel.

The tower has 31 floors and 4,500 windows which are composed of 40 different colours. The building was designed to make maximum use of natural energy and so is environmentally friendly. Every weekend, at nightfall, the building becomes the centre of attention as a result of its nocturnal illumination.
