The Sagrada Familia was one of the most ambitious projects undertaken by the famous Catalan architect, Antoni Gaudí, however, it remains unfinished, as he died before completing his masterpiece. Today, the cathedral lies in the hands of Jordi Bonet, the chef architect who strives to complete Gaudí’s cathedral which has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city, not to mention the main symbol of modernism in Catalonia.

So far, eight of the twelve church towers have been built and so it is believed that the building will be completed within the next few years and despite the cathedral being incomplete, UNESCO has designated the Nativity façade and Crypt of the Sagrada Familia as World Heritage Sites.
