Passeig Picasso, Passeig Pujades and Carrer Wellington

Cuitadella Park is situated in the area of what was a citadel built in 1716 and this is where the park gets its name from. When the walls of the citadel were knocked down, a number of designs were put forward outlining what to do with the remaining land. It was finally decided to convert it into a park and so the Parc de la Cuitadella became the first pubic park in Barcelona.

It is located in Ciutat Vella, a district in Barcelona and some of the things you can visit inside the park are Barcelona zoo and the Parliament of Catalonia. This central park is currently one of the biggest green zones in the city covering around 42 acres of land and it is one of the most popular meeting spots used by locals and tourists in the city, as well as being the perfect place to relax, ride your bicycle or go for a walk.

The park has a friendly atmosphere and you can see lots of famous monuments such as the statue of the mammoth, the cascada (a large arch with a waterfall and fountain) and a lake where you can hire rowing boats.
