The MACBA otherwise known as Barcelona’s Contemporary Art Museum, houses a collection of contemporary art and mainly works from the second half of the 20th century. This museum is situated in a building designed by the architect Richard Meier and was opened in 1995.

Located in the Raval district, this building is a contemporary and simplistic design which contrasts with the architecture of the adjacent buildings.

This museum exhibits collections done by contemporary artists, some as famous as Antoni Tàpies and Paul Klee.
