Esplanada D. Carlos I – Doca dos Olivais – Parque das Nações


In the Portuguese Capital you will find one of the best aquariums in the world, designed by the American architect Peter Chermayeff. This sea world is the star attraction at the Parque de las Naciones and in this complex you can discover and learn lots about different ecosystems in oceans all over the world. You will get to see around 15,000 aquatic creatures.

Built for Expo ‘98, Lisbon Aquarium is a living museum where you can see species from the North Atlantic, the Antarctic, the Pacific and the Indian Ocean. There are more than 450 different species of animals and plants and a total of 30 sea water tanks.

Visit this aquarium and marvel at its large collection of marine animals, from birds to mammals, amphibians to fish. The central tank in the museum is the tourist magnet as it is home to sharks, barracudas, tuna fish and tropical fish.
