Oudekerksplein 23

The oldest church in Amsterdam, Oude kerk, dates back to the 13th century and was built in honour of Saint Nicolas, the patron saint of Amsterdam.

Ironically the church is situated in De Wallen, otherwise known as the red light district where you will see prostitutes standing in rented rooms with glass windows. There are regular concerts in the church and the famous church organ is used during these performances. There is a weekly Sunday service held at 11 a.m. which is open to everyone.
