Gedempte Begijnensloot
Amsterdam

This building was built in the 13th century as a novice where Dutch women could live in a community and take religious vows. More than 40 of the original houses in the old novitiate remain today. There is also a church, chapel and souvenir shop. The houses have been restored and are still used by women.
