The old district in Amsterdam was formerly one of the richest in the city, however, today it is more commonly known as the Amsterdam red light district because of the red neon lights which illuminate the streets. In fact, this area has become one of the main tourist attractions in the city as visitors flock to see one of the most radical areas in the world where prostitutes stand freely in the windows and along the street.

Ironically, this district is also the home to Oude Kerk, the Old Church, and museums such as Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder which was an illegal church hidden in an attic during the Reformation, as well as many beautiful houses.
