Mexico City is located on an a high plane and so the temperature in the city is milder than the rest of the country. The weather is pleasant during the winter and warm and dry during the summer in Mexico, particularly during April and May. The rainy season begins in May which helps to clear the polluted air in the city centre. It is advisable to carry an umbrella at any time of the year in Mexico, just in case there is an unexpected downpour.

The average annual temperature in Mexico City is around 15C and it does not change significantly during the year. The coldest month is January and the warmest month is May.
