The Metropolitan Art Museum was founded in 1926 and displays Japanese artwork, as well as a large collection by international artists. Some of the most popular artwork on show are the oil paintings, Japanese calligraphy, poetry and sculptures.

It has a total of six galleries, one of which is used for temporary exhibitions and others are used for workshops.
