Via Appia Antica, 110-126
Rome

The Catacombs are old subterranean burial chambers. They were used for funerals and worship, and some martyrs have even been buried in these underground crypts.

Today, the Saint Calixto Catacombs are a popular tourist attraction in Rome and they are altogether around 8 miles long and have different cubicles and galleries which are waiting to be discovered. You must enter the catacombs via the staircase and here you will see some of the main attractions, the Crypt of the Popes and the Crypt of Saint Cecilia.
