If you want to see the oldest university in Dublin, you should go to Trinity College which was founded in 1592 and has more than 12,000 students studying at the campus. One of the main attractions for visitors to Trinity College is the Old Library and every year more than 500,000 people come to see it, as well as the Long Room which is a 65m long chamber and the Book of Kells.

The Long Room has a collection of around 200,000 of the oldest books in the library. There is also a collection of marble busts and an oak harp which is probably the oldest in Ireland dating back to the 15th century.

The Book of Kells is the masterpiece of Trinity College and is kept in the Treasury. It was written around 800 AD and is a beautifully illustrated manuscript. There are also guided tours of the old part of the university campus.
