Malahide Castle and Gardens, Malahide

Malahide Castle is situated in Malahide, a beautiful town which is about 6 miles from Dublin city centre. The castle was owned by the Talbot family for 791 years and today it is open to the public and has a large collection of old furniture on display. There is also a collection of portraits which can be viewed during the guided tour of the castle. Private banquets are sometimes held in the main dining room of the castle.

Near the castle is Tara’s Palace which is one of the most impressive dolls’ houses in the world. Fry Model Railway is also situated nearby in the castle’s gardens and is a collection of miniature handmade Irish trains.
