New Delhi

Raj Ghat is a black platform with an engraving of Mahatma Gandhi’s last words, “Hé Ram,” which means “O God.” This plaque is located in a park and is surrounded by exotic trees and fountains.

In January 1948, Gandhi was cremated in this area which lies at the edge of the Yamuna River as it was considered the best place to pay tribute to him. The black marble plaque with the famous engraving is usually covered with flowers and the gardens are an ideal place to relax from the city stress.
