The National Gardens of Athens were originally built as the Royal Palace gardens in 1838 and today, they are used as a public park and gardens. This green oasis was designed by the German gardener Schmidt and covers around 38.3 acres………….it is the perfect refuge from the city stress.

Wander through the park and discover some of its most renowned features, such as the Zappeion, ancient ruins, busts of Capodistrias who was the first governor of Greece, the Botanical Museum, plants, flowers and a duck pond.

There is history waiting to be discovered in this park and garden which is located behind the Greek parliament buildings.
