One of the most popular tourist attractions in the city is Mount Lycabettus, a hill which can be seen all over Athens. It stands 277m above sea level and is made of Cretaceous limestone.

You can access the top of the hill by walking or by taking the funicular railway which runs from Kolonaki terminal. The base of the hill is surrounded by pine trees and at the top you can visit the 19th century Chapel of St. George, have a romantic meal at the hilltop restaurant, admire the fantastic views or go to the theatre.

It is worth visiting this hill just to take a breather from the city stress and enjoy the view.
