Munich Zoo Tierparkstrasse 30 Seibenbrunn München Website Munich Hellabrunn Zoo was first opened on 1 August 1911 and was designed by Emanuel von Seidl. However, it was closed in 1922, reopened and then closed again during the Second World War. The zoo we see today is that which was reconstructed following the war. There are around 5,000 animals which are all grouped by continent at Tierpark Hellabrunn Zoo in Munich. Some of the most popular attractions at the zoo are the lions, chimpanzees, the giant tortoise and the gorillas – this will keep your children happy for hours. Let you kids interact with nature at the petting area or give them the opportunity to ride a horse, pony or camel – this will be a holiday they will remember forever.
