Avenue des Champs Elysées

The Champs Elysées is the street which extends from Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe. It is one of the most famous in the world and this is where you will find designer shops, restaurants, cinemas, embassies and the most chic nightclubs in Paris.

It was designed in 1667 by André Le Nôtre, who was King Louis XIV’s gardener, with the aim of improving the view from the Jardin des Tuileries outside the Louvre Museum. The street was enlarged during the 17th century and so today it is 1.25 miles longer than before.
