Continental Airlines merges with United Airlines

About Continental Airlines

The United States airline, Continental Airlines was founded in 1934 as “Varney Speed Lines”. Its first commerical flight took off on 15 July 1934 between El Pueblo, Colorado and El Paso, Texas. It was not until 1937 that Varney Speed Lines was renamed Continental. On March 3, 2012, Continental merged with United Airlines.
