Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium Rue de la Régence 3 Marolles The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium was founded over two centuries ago. Its collection of paintings, sculptures and drawings total some 20,000 works and so it is home to the largest collection of ancient and modern art in the country. The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium consists of four museums: The Museum of Ancient Art, The Museum of Modern Art, The Wiertz Museum and The Meunier Museum. The Museum of Ancient Art displays 15th to 18th century artwork, including paintings, drawings and sculptures by artists such as Rogier van der Weyden and Dirk Bouts. At the Museum of Modern Art you can see paintings which date from the 18th century to the modern period, as well as the Wiertz and Meunier Museums which include a collection of Antoine-Joseph Wiertz’s and Constantin Meunier’s paintings.
