Rue de Montagne,
1000 Bruxelles

Located just steps from the Belgian Royal Palace is The Belgian Musical Instrument Museum which was founded in 1877. In this museum, in 2000, was housed the Old England Building, a beautiful Art Nouveau building formerly used as a department store.

MIM is home to one of the biggest musical instrument collections in the world which includes antiques and modern displays. Almost 7,000 musical instruments can be seen: string and wind instruments, organs and pianos. There is even a stringed-instrument workshop where you can see how a violin and a guitar are made. Listen to each instrument being played using the infrared headset.

On the top floor of the museum there is a restaurant and outdoor terrace which offers fantastic views of Brussels. The museum is closed on Mondays.
