Avenue du Prince Royal
1020 Bruxelles

Domaine Royal is a huge landscaped park which is comprised of the Royal Castle; the royal residence since the 19th century. The Royal Chateaux buildings are out of bounds, but visitors can see the Royal Greenhouses, parks and gardens.

The Domaine was created and embellished during the reign of Leopold II. In 1873, the Royal Greenhouses were added to the Château. The castle is not open to the public. The Royal Greenhouses are only open twice per week between April and May. If you have the chance to visit the park, you will be able to see all sorts of exotic and tropical plants. With 14,000 m², this is one of the largest greenhouses in the world.

Some of the most renowned monuments in the garden are the Japanese Tower (Tour japonaise), the Chinese house (le pavillon chinois) and the Royal Notre Dame Church, (l’église Notre Dame de Laeken).
