The National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires has the largest collection of 20th century Argentinean art in the whole world, as well as a collection of European art which dates from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.

The museum was opened in 1896 and some of its most famous works are art are by El Greco, Goya, Rodin, Degas, Cézanne and Picasso, not to mention the Argentinean masterpieces by la Vega, Xul Solar and Berni.

This museum also has an interesting collection of photography and sculptures and a huge art library with more than 150,000 books.
