Palermo is one of the most popular districts in Buenos Aires. It is located in the north-east of the city and is a mainly residential area with pretty streets lined with trees and grand houses. The main square in Palermo is Plaza Italia and the main street is Avenida del Libertador.

There are lots of things to see in Palermo and if you want to relax and get away from the city stress, you should go to the Parque Tres de Febrero which is the green lung of the city. Palermo is also home to the Galileo Galilei Planetarium, the Japanese Garden, the Zoo, a golf course and the Botanic Garden. The Monument to the Spaniards which was a gift from Spain to mark 100 years of Argentinean independence is also found in Palermo.

Palermo Viejo is the old part of the district where there are lots of cafes, restaurants, bars and theatres. It is a popular area for young people and artists.

Palermo Chico is where lots of the fine houses and palaces are located, as well as the Spanish, Italian and Belgian embassies.
