The fourth and final of the annual Grand Slam Tennis Tournaments, the US Open, is held over a two week period which usually falls during the last week in August and the first week in September.

The first US Open was held in 1881 which makes it one of the oldest tennis tournaments. There are five main events during the tournament, men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, mixed doubles, as well as events for senior, junior, and wheelchair players. Professionals from all over the world take part in this tournament to be in with their chance of winning $1.5 million for each winner of the singles tournaments.
