The London Eye is the world's largest observation wheel which weighs 16 hundred tonnes, has over four miles of cables and stands at 135 metres above the ground. It was opened in 2000 to celebrate the new millennium and is currently one of the most visited attractions.
The London Eye is now a landmark of the city and a new feature which has been added to London's skyline. It is well worth a visit giving you a unique opportunity to see the whole city, including the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Tate Modern and St. Paul's Cathedral.
It is located in the Jubilee Gardens on the South bank of the River Thames, opposite the Houses of Parliament. The gradual flight in the London Eye lasts 30 minutes and each capsule has bench seating to accommodate 25 people.
