Robert Burns was born on 25 January 1759, and today, Scots continue to celebrate the birth, life and works of the national poet on this day.

On Burns Night, Burns Suppers are arranged all over Scotland, whether it is an informal gathering among friends or a formal dinner in a restaurant. If you want to experience Scottish culture, this is an event not to be missed.

If you are in Scotland on Burns Night you will get to experience the formalities which take place at a Burns Supper which are held in some traditional Scottish restaurants and pubs.

Traditional Burns Night festivities including eating the Burns Supper which consists of traditional Scottish cuisine: cock-a-leekie soup as the starter, Haggis, neeps & tatties for the main course and Clootie Dumpling for dessert. At formal events there are bagpipers and a Célilidh dance is organised. There are even opportunities to read poetry in memory of Robert Burns.
