Shinjuku

Shinjuku is a business, entertainment and shopping area, which is sometimes referred to as Little Manhattan because of the large buildings and skyscrapers which dominate the skyline in this district of Tokyo.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government is located in the two twin towers known as the Tocho Building and each tower has an observation level on floor 45 which is a popular tourist attraction. The two towers look like a cathedral and were designed by the famous Japanese architect Kenzo Tange.

Another tourist attraction is Kabukicho, which is the most important red-light-district in Tokyo where you will find lots of bars and restaurants.

Shinjuku Gyoen is one of the biggest parks in the city and is located in Shinjuku. It is one of the best places to go during Hanami (Flower Viewing).

Shinjuku has become even more popular since the famous American film, Lost in Translation, was filmed in the Hotel Park Hyatt in this district.

Temple Bar District

Dublin 2
If there is one area which captures the true essence of Dublin, it is Temple Bar, the oldest district in the centre of Dublin city, south of the River Liffey. Renowned for its medieval street layout with cobbled pavements, Temple Bar is the place to go if you want to party all night long, with clubs, bars and restaurants lining every street. Not only is it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city, but it is also Dublin's cultural quarter.

If you want to find something different to take home with you as a souvenir then you should go to one of the markets held in Temple Bar.

Dublin Guide | Historical buildings in Dublin

Grafton Street
Grafton Street
Dublin 2

Grafton Street starts beside St. Stephen's Green and is a pedestrianised street which is busy at all hours of the day and night as it is the entertainment capital of Dublin. You will find restaurants, cafes and shops along Grafton Street, such as the famous department store, Brown Thomas, and the oldest coffee shop in the city, Bewley's Oriental Café.

The bronze statue of Molly Malone is located at one of the street and has been there since the end of the 20th century. It has become one of the icons in Dublin and is used as a meeting point for young Dubliners. It represents a woman selling fish and there is a legend that Molly Malone has her own song which is called Cockles and Mussels and if you go to Dublin you will probably hear the song being played in souvenir shops.
