Abbey Road Studios

3 Abbey Road, St Johns Wood
London

The Abbey Road Studios, located in a 19th century building, are renowned as the studios where the Beatles recorded their first album.

Today, this studio is regarded as the most technically advanced in the world. Its history began when EMI bought the building in Abbey Road in 1929. The Beatles recorded in this studio for the first time in 1962, even though EMI had began recording in 1931. Songs like She loves you or I want to hold your hand were recorded here.

Abbey Road is considered as one of the most emblematic studios for the UK music industry and artists such as Radiohead, Manic Street Preachers, Texas and Blur have recorded their music in this building. In 1983 the studios were opened to visitors. However, today the studio's premises are only accessible to musicians.

Camden Town and its open-air markets, pubs, restaurants and cafes have become a major tourist attraction in London. If you are looking for alternative fashion, vintage clothing, jewellery, furniture, international food or somewhere to eat then this is the place to go.

Camden Lock Market was the first market to open in Camden in 1975 and it offers a wide selection of board games, music, films and books. You can even purchase furniture, crafts, jewellery and accessories from over 100 stands.

Camden Stables Market mainly offers alternative fashion and clothing, but you will also find crafts, footwear, antiques and collectables at around 500 different shops and stands in the market. Camden Stables is located in a restored industrial building with magnificent Victorian brick arches.

Camden Buck Street has over 200 stalls selling jewellery and clothing and Camden Canal Market opens from Friday to Sunday; Electric Ballroom is only open on Sundays. There is something for everyone in Camden Town as even the main streets are packed with shops, pubs, small indoor markets and crowds of people.
