The Woodland Cementery, or &lt;strong&gt;Skogskyrkogården&lt;/strong&gt;,&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;in Stockholm is located in the south of the city and covers around 250 acres of forest. It was declared a &lt;strong&gt;World Heritage Site&lt;/strong&gt; by UNESCO in 1994 because of its many monuments such as the Woodland Chapel which was opened in 1920, and &lt;strong&gt;Resurrection Chapel&lt;/strong&gt; which was opened in 1925.

It became one of the most important trading centres for Scandanavia and Eastern Europe because of its port.
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Birka was declared a &lt;strong&gt;World Heritage Site&lt;/strong&gt; by UNESCO in 1993 and the Birka museum was opened in 1996 which shows archaeological finds from the Viking era.

 <title>Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew</title>

The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew are one of the four &lt;strong&gt;World Heritage Sites&lt;/strong&gt; in London. The gardens were designed in 1759 and there are currently over 30,000 different types of plants growing in this garden. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Flora has been taken from all over the world to the Botanic Gardens and there are coffee plants and bamboos in the garden. The Royal Gardens have a wonderful setting on the bank of the River Thames covering around 300 acres. It has six glasshouses and the &lt;strong&gt;curved glass Palm house&lt;/strong&gt;, built in 1848, is its architectural highlight.

Throughout its history, it has been used as a royal palace, fortress, jail, and menagerie, and it has been home to the &lt;strong&gt;Crown Jewels Collection&lt;/strong&gt; since 1303 when they was stolen from Westminster Abbey. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
This tower is located on the shore of the River Thames and is adjacent to &lt;a href=&quot;/united-kingdom/london/tower-bridge&quot; title=&quot;Tower Bridge&quot;&gt;Tower Bridge&lt;/a&gt;. It was built in 1078 and is the oldest palace, fortress and prison in Europe. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
The most central tower out of the thirteen which make up the building is &lt;strong&gt;White Tower,&lt;/strong&gt; which was built to protect the Normans from the citizens, and at the same time to protect London from outside invaders. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Today, nearly 150 people still live within the walls of Tower of London, mainly wardens and their families.
