One of the most popular children's attractions in Tokyo is the Disney Resort. The Tokyo theme park, Tokyo Disney Resort is a huge complex which has two attraction parks, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea Park which offer a wide variety of services and hotels.

It was opened in 1983 just like the other Disney Resorts in the USA and Europe, and it is divided into seven themed areas which are designed for the whole family.

This park is famous for the animal parades, live shows and fireworks which are held everyday making a trip to the park a once in a lifetime experience. Tokyo Disney Sea Park has an additional 23 attractions, as well as the Ikspiari complex with 120 shops, nine themed shopping areas, restaurants and cinemas.

Playdium is an amusement park and arcade located in Mississauga near Toronto. It has lots outdoor activities such as go-karts, mini golf, a baseball field and a volleyball court, not to mention the videogames inside the complex.

Playdium is divided into various sports and music areas. Apart from the 200 interactive games and the open-air games area, there are two restaurants and it even hosts birthday parties.

The best theme park in Canada is Paramount Canada's Wonderland which has over 200 attractions and 60 rides suitable for the whole family to enjoy. Some of the most popular roller coasters are The Cliffhanger and Sky Rider which will put your fear factor to the test.

There are also live shows, a swimming pool with a wave maker and lots of restaurants, bars, toy shops, clothes shops and souvenir shops.

Ontario Place was opened in May 1971 and is a theme park located on the shores of Lake Ontario, 2.5 miles from the centre of Toronto. It was built on top of three man-made islands which are linked by bridges.

Ontario Place is divided into five themed areas. Sock City is a water park and Marina Village has a huge IMAX cinema. Market Square, Adventure Island and GoZone include attractions for the whole family, as well as restaurants and shops.

Gröna Lund was opened in 1883 and is renowned as the best theme park in the country. It is located on Djurgården, an island in the east of central Stockholm and it has various roller coasters and holds open-air concerts during the summer months.

The main attractions at the park are the free fall rides and the roller coasters. There are also four different stages where open-air concerts are held during the warm weather.

Getting to Gröna Luna is part of the adventure as you will have to jump on one of the boats which connect the city with the park. Family fun is guaranteed at Gröna Park.

Astérix Theme Park is about 22 miles from Paris and is divided into different areas which recreate the adventures of Astérix the Gaul. The park has attractions for both children and adults, such as rollercoasters, water attractions, shows and a 3D cinema.

The park is divided into a Roman city, Ancient Greece and Gaul village, and you will have the chance to meet some of your favourite Roman characters as well as Astérix and Obelix. Enjoy a meal in one of the restaurants, stay in the hotel or go for a wander in the shops, you won't be short of things to do at this theme park.

M&D's Scotland's Theme Park has 40 rides and attractions designed for both children and adults. There is a rollercoaster, Ferris wheel and a merry-go-round, as well as an indoor play area where you can go bowling, play snooker and lots more. It is great for children and ideal for rainy days. The indoor rainforest attraction, Amazonia is a very popular attraction for young children, giving them an insight to life in a tropical rainforest.

There are various restaurants, souvenir shops and there is even a hotel called Alona. Entrance to the park is free as you must you pay for the services that you use and you can either pay for a pass to use all the attractions or you can purchase a seasonal pass. Cheap flights to Edinburgh.

The Parque Warner Madrid is a movie related theme park which has become very popular for family day trips. Divided into five areas each with a particular theme, this amusement park offers a wide range of activities, from attractions and shows, to restaurants and shops. The theme park was opened in 2002 and is organised into the following areas: Hollywood Boulevard at the entrance, mainly showing street parades and theatre performances; Cartoon Village which is designed especially for children and finally Old West Territory, Warner Bros Studios and DC Super Heroes World which all have spectacular rides such as the Stunt Fall and the Coaster Express. The park also has 20 shops and 21 restaurants and bars. You can travel to the Parque Warner in Madrid by train which leaves from Atocha station in Madrid.
