Samut Prakarn Crocodile Farm and Zoo was founded in 1950 by Utal Youngprapakorn and it is home to more than 60,000 crocodiles, elephants, tigers, chimpanzees, lions, leopards, snakes, camels and birds.

One of the things to watch out for at the zoo is Yai, the largest crocodile in the world which measures 6m and weighs about 16 stone. There is also a crocodile wrestling show held every hour and an elephant show.

If you want to take home something to remember your visit you should go to the zoo shop where you can purchase various crocodile skin souvenirs.

Toronto Zoo is the main zoo in Canada and is set in the Rouge Valley. There are more than 5,000 animals, 460 different species and it covers around 709 acres of land making it one of the largest zoos in the world, welcoming over one million visitors each year.

There are other attractions at the zoo, apart from the animals such as the Zellers Discovery Zone which is a small zoo for children, the Splash Island which is a water park, and the Waterside Theatre.

The complex also has various restaurants and souvenir shops.

Delhi Zoo is one of the most important in India, covering around 240 acres and being home to more than 1,700 animals from all over the world. Any animal imaginable lives in this zoo, from chimpanzees to hippopotamus, monkeys, buffalos, zebras, lions and white tigers, and there is even a special area for reptiles. However, the stars of the show are the elephants who always attract the largest audience for their daily elephant march.

Delhi Zoo is a great family day out with lots of picnic areas where you can enjoy eating in the sunshine. Something to watch out for is the Kos Minar pillar which was built at the entrance of the zoo by the Mughal Emperor Jehagir.

Every 30 minutes there is a free ferry service between Battery Park and Staten Island. It was designed for workers who live on the island but work in Manhattan and it has become a very popular tourist attraction as there are many things to see, such as the Garibaldi Mucci museum or the Staten Island Museum which explains the history of the island. There is also a zoo, children's museum, Botanic Garden and esplanade.

You can also visit the Historic Richmond Town where you can discover what American life is like today and what it was like during the colonial period. This town covers 25 acres and has 15 restored buildings which are used as houses, shops and a museum.

Skansen is the oldest open-air museum in the world and is open all year. It displays a model of Sweden with more than 150 houses and farms which date to various different periods in time and different geographical regions. There is also a zoo with various animals such as seals, bears and moose.

Summer concerts are held and there are shops and craft workshops. A small train runs around the park and you can also participate in the traditional parties and folklore dances.

This is a big museum with a formal garden, a rose garden and a collection of herbal plants all in the museum's park.

Dublin Zoo is one of the most popular attractions for children in Dublin and it lies waiting to be discovered in Phoenix Park; the largest urban enclosed park in Europe. It covers around 1,760 acres and is only 2 miles from the city centre.

Some of the most important features in the park are, The Wellington Monument, a 62m tall obelisk, The Phoenix Monument which is located in the centre of the park and the Áras an Uachtaráin which is the residence of the President of Ireland and the American ambassador.

Dublin Zoo is home to a total of 700 animals and tropical birds. It was opened at the start of the 19th century and has three main objectives; conservation of species, study of animals and education.

The zoo has a number of different areas which are all unique and particularly popular with young children. They can feel free to explore at the African Plains, the Fringes of the Arctic, the World of primates and City Farm which is a representation of farm and domestic animals. Children will not go home disappointed.

A good option if you wish to spend a day out with the whole family is to visit the zoo. London Zoo is located in Regent's Park. This park offers a wide range of entertainment facilities mainly held in the summer, for example open-air theatres, the sport and leisure facilities, Dickens's villages and playgrounds and there are amusements for everyone at Regent's Park.

The zoo is the main attraction in the park, housing a large variety of animals and focused on the youngsters. Today, London Zoo is home to over 650 types of animals and is the oldest zoo in the world having opened in 1828.

Edinburgh Zoo is located just outside Edinburgh city centre and it is home to more than 1,000 different animals. The stars at the zoo are the penguins and each day there is a Penguin Parade when they march to the swimming pool and dive in. The zoo has various picnic areas, play areas for children, shops and restaurants. Mansion House at Edinburgh Zoo was built in 1793 and today it has been converted into a restaurant.

The zoo covers around 82 acres of land and is one of the most visited places in Scotland. Some of the animals you will meet are the polar bears, monkeys, tigers, giraffes, lions, hippopotamuses and many different birds. Another attraction at the zoo is the Hilltop Safari which will take you to the top of the zoo which is set on a hill. The service is free of charge and is available every day of the year except Christmas Day.

Founded in 1838, Artis Zoo is the oldest zoo in Holland and covers around 6 acres of land. It is home to 700 different animal species and 200 tree species and it is divided into different themed areas, the Aquarium which dates back to the 19th century, the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Zoo Museum and the Planetarium.

There are restaurants and shops in the zoo as well as a children's area with household pets. A total of 8,000 animals live in the Artis Zoo.

The zoo in Rome, Bioparco, was founded in 1908 and is located in the centre of the Villa Borghese Park. It occupies about 45 acres of land and has different areas, for example Villagio degli scimpanzé (the chimpanzee village), la Casa delle Giraffe (the Giraffe house) and the Fattoria dei Bambini where little children can play with animals.

The zoo was built to protect endangered animals and is home to 194 different animal species out of a total of 1,200 animals. It also holds shows, performances, conferences, classes and seminars.
