Summit is located on the 47th floor of a skyscraper and it offers 360º panoramic views over the city. The main attraction at this restaurant, apart from the exquisite food is the rotating dining room which makes a complete turn every 105 minutes.

Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the most renowned bridges in Australia. It was opened in 1932 and is still marvelled at for its design and its magnitude. Why not try to climb all 200 stairs which will lead you to Pylon Lookout enabling you to view the whole city, as well as renowned attractions such as Sydney Port and Sydney Opera House.

You can also visit BridgeClimb which enables you to reach the highest point of Sydney Harbour Bridge, or discover its history at the Pylon Lookout museum which displays objects and tools used to make the bridge as well as information about JJC Bradfield, the engineer responsible for building the bridge.

Sydney Opera House is one of the most famous theatres in the world which has become the icon of Australia. It is renowned for its modern design in the shape of huge concrete shells and it is situated on an enclave between Sydney Harbour and the sea. It is the best place to go if you want to see an opera, listen to an open-air concert or watch the coming and going at the harbour while enjoying a cocktail at one of the outdoor bars.

The building was built between 1959 and 1973 by the Danish architect Jørn Utzon and it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005. There are more than 1,500 theatre performances held at the Sydney Opera House each year, such as classical music, ballet and rock shows. The Opera Australia, Australian Ballet and the Sydney Theatre Company are all based in the Sydney Opera House and it is also used by other touring companies.

You can visit the theatre and see the five auditoriums where the performances take place, but if you want to discover the building in more detail, you should take a guided visit which will let you explore the backstage area and the Concert Hall where the likes of Pavarotti and Michael Bublé have performed. There is a special package which enables you to enjoy a guided visit, a theatre production and a candlelit dinner at the Guillaume at Bennelong restaurant in the building. Apart from the theatres, Sydney Opera House has restaurants, souvenir shops and bars.

Empire State Building

The Empire State Building is located on Fifth Avenue and is renowned for its role in the famous Hollywood film, King Kong. The building was opened in 1931 and is 450m tall with 102 floors and boasts beautiful views of the whole city. It was the tallest building in the world when it was first erected, however, today, it is the second tallest building in the United States just behind the Sears Towers in Chicago.

The observatory is located in the highest part of the skyscraper and you can visit it by day or night. There are 73 lifts in the building so you will not have to climb the 1,860 stairs to reach the last floor of the building.

The building has starred in a number of films such as Independence Day and Sleepless in Seattle. It was damaged 1945 when an aeroplane crashed into the building causing a minor fire and it has been scaled by the French climber Alain Rober, otherwise known as Spiderman.

The CN Tower in Canada or the Canadian National Tower was the highest structure in the world, measuring 553.33m. Construction of the tower began in 1973 and it was opened in 1976 to improve communications in the city which had deteriorated because of the skyscrapers which were shooting up all over the city.

Since it was built, it has become one of the most famous attractions in the city with tourists coming from all over the world to scale the building.

The first stop on the way up the tower is the outdoor observation level with a glass floor standing 342m above the ground. Climb a little further to the next observation level where you will find the CN Tower coffee shop, Horizons Café at 346m high.

On the top floor of the tower is the Sky Pod which stands at 447m and is the most popular attraction. It is the highest observation point in the world and on a clear day it boasts very impressive views over the city centre and its outskirts.

Another attraction which welcomes more than two million visitors each year is the 360 restaurant which is located at 351m high and offers panoramic views over Toronto.

The archipelago is a mass of 24,000 islands which are scattered off the coast of Stockholm in the Baltic Sea. This is the largest archipelago in the world and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.

During the summer months, this maze of islands is an ideal destination for locals and tourists and some even compare them to the Caribbean. When it starts to get warm the more adventurous look for the nearest beach to take a dip in the Baltic Sea.

The islands are all different; some are isolated and others have inhabitants and offer services such as youth hostels and campsites. The houses on the islands are made of red and yellow wood and have small private boats which are used to travel from one island to another.

Stockholm archipelago is the largest in the world. The most renowned islets are Sandöm which has a graveyard in memory of the lighthouse keepers; Gröskär where you can see an 18th century lighthouse; and finally Utö which has the oldest iron mines in Stockholm.
