Stockholm is the capital and largest city in Sweden and is located on its east coast at the mouth of Lake Mälaren. It is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is split into 14 islands, all of which are interconnected by 53 bridges. Gamala Stan is the historic centre and nightlife capital of the city and is a completely pedestrianised island which is a very popular tourist attraction.

Stockholm is famous for being a modern, multicultural city with 15% of its population being immigrants. It is also host to the annual Nobel Prizes and is one of the cleanest capitals in Europe. One of the most famous tourist attractions is the archipelago which is formed of 24,000 small islands and lies off the coast of Sweden.
