Sweden – Travel Guide

Renowned as one of the most developed countries in Europe with very high standards of living and one of the most beautiful archipelagic capitals you can imagine is Sweden; a sophisticated country with marvellous natural beauties which make it a destination unlike any other.

From the Scandinavian Mountain Range which separates Sweden from Norway to the delta of Rapadalen in Laponia where you can see the largest strip of unspoilt land in Europe, Sweden has plenty to see if you want to experience nature at its best.

Visit Stockholm, the capital of Sweden which is believed to be the cleanest city in the world, and talk a wonder through the medieval Old Town, Gamla Stan, with its cobbled streets and archaic architecture. This is a city of culture and has become a tourist magnet with Stortorget Square, Stockholm Stock Exchange and lots of museums.

Sweden’s Nordic location provides around 9 hours of daily sunshine during the summer months which attracts lots of tourists who brave a dip in the clear blue waters surrounding the archipelago. Cold dark winters with lots of snow may be grim in Sweden, but if you are only going for a holiday, it is the best way to have a white Christmas.

Other cities worth a visit in Sweden are Gothenburg and Malmö in the south which have wonderful monuments and castles, or take a look at Birka, a former Viking settlement.
