IMAX Port Vell is a large-format cinema which shows documentaries, action and animated films on giant screens.
The IMAX cinema in Barcelona has three different methods of projecting the film. The first is known as IMAX technology, which shows the film on a 21m high screen which produces a spectacular image.
The second type of technology used is omnimax which projects films onto tilted dome screens making the viewer feel emerged in the film and finally, the third is IMAX 3D which gives the impression that the image is jumping out from the screen.
