The famous race track, Circuit de Catalunya is located north-east of Barcelona in Montmeló. The track was opened in 1991 and today it is considered as one of the most modern racetracks in the world. Many annual competitions are held in Montmeló, for example, the Spanish Formula One Grand Prix and the Catalan Motorcycle Grand Prix.

The high speed racetrack is set in 295 acres and is used for all important competitions. Is also hired out for filming advertisements, training and testing equipment. Circuit de Catalunya also has its own train station.
