Els Quatre Gats was founded at the end of the 19th century and is based on the Parisian restaurant Le Chat Noir. It was traditionally considered as a restaurant for artists, bohemians and modernist intellectuals to meet which would explain why Pablo Picasso designed the front of the menu which is still used today. The restaurant offers a lunch menu as well as a menu of typical Catalan dishes.
